Interactive Design for Enhanced Learning

Electro is an interactive setup that facilitates effective learning of the electrocardiogram (ECG) through bridging 2D to 3D information. It provides visual cues that connect the anatomy of the human heart with its corresponding ECG graphs, to strengthen students’ structural understanding of the heart.

The concept was demonstrated using the case study of Myocardial Infarction of the anterior heart walls.

Electro’s digital interface offers 3 key toggles through which students can better visualise ECG data: 1) by overlaying a normal ECG with synchronised heart rates, 2) colour coding with respect to heart walls, and 3) highlighting detected abnormalities.
