Design Thinking Training EDB Original 4 Half-day Workshop
I am part of a team of 3 Designers who started our EDB in-house "Design Thinking" training programme (f.2021) to upskill the organisation in terms of understanding and experiencing the fundamental Design Process through hands-on experience.
It has been described as a "crash course" or "bootcamp" by some of our participants and it has proven to proliferate deeper appreciation for getting to the root of the problem before 'solutioning'. This mitigates downstream costs to the organisation, users, and project stakeholders. We strive to share the value and appreciation of the double-diamond design process: to "build, test, iterate", to be comfortable with clarity of next steps in the face of uncertain outcomes, and most importantly to question our assumptions to make sure we are designing for the right problems before designing things right.
I have had the privilege to run this workshop for 4 batches of individuals from different teams within the organisation, with personnel ranging from board members, managers, associates etc.
The original team has since disbanded but the design content continues to feed into the practices and client-engagement activities of a growing in-house Design team. LinkedIn post
